Regina busted out her old pre-Henry acoustic guitar to best express her emotions: through angry folk songs. She's been re-writing the lyrics of certain songs and playing open mics at Granny's.
In the style of Ani Difranco's "In or Out" The dwarves are all asking are you in or are you out? And I'm thinking what is this about? They tried to make me cross the Storybrooke line, erase my memory, but you know, I'll be fine. Emma looks me up and down like she thinks that I'm mature, like she's got my heart, like it belongs to her. She says 'call me Ms. Mills if there is anything I can do,' you see I've got Henry and I've her too.
In the style of Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know" A male version of me. Is he perverted like me, Henry's daddy? Would he go down on you in the Sheriff's station? And I"m here to remind you of the curse you broke then you went away! Cause the magic that we made that you gave wasn't able to make the portal open wide, no!

Not so sure about these open mikes at Granny's after 2x08 but there's probably some shady corner of Storybrooke hiding an Evil-friendly speakeasy or two. Some jazzy bluesy burlesque cabaret frequented by those bad fairies Snow mentioned....

Something like this maybe? And forgive my errors, I'm new at this:
Everybody feels it. This longing, this uneasy feeling. We all want something... Or someone. Yet we're trapped here. Everything that came before just eating at us. And there ain't nothin' we can do about it....
-------------------------------
A jazz saxophone begins its slow steady grind, silencing the hum of whispers in the crowd. The stage is still dark as the piano rumbles into life. A spotlight dances on the purple curtain, as it rises, before settling on the baby grand, as the crowd cheers and claps. She is Diminutive, Mysterious. Long, broad, coat tails skim the floor behind the piano player's bench. Strong, slender fingers rock, then pound their path along the ivories and ebonies keeping pace with the sax as its notes fill the room. Thank goodness this song has no words, she mumbles under her teeth, as she swallows the pain choking her throat. As she smiles and throws a wave to the audience, her cheeks catch a tear escaping from her eyes. She smiles with all her teeth now, hoping to keep her tears hidden behind the thick gold rimmed shades. She tips her head back, playing the notes from memory with her eyes closed, swaying her head from side to side, like she is in an old Stevie Wonder show she saw once. Over the itch of the bobby pins and stocking cap fastened to her dark brown hair, her white blonde bob radiates under the beam of the spotlights. A trickle of sweat runs down the side of her neck. It shimmers in the light before disappearing. Hearing the roar from the audience as her piano sounds its crescendo, she wishes it was always this easy. She dreams for a moment what it would be like to just be this, the anonymous performer, dazzling the crowd, being loved for her talents instead of feared for them. No more Evil Queen, no more Mayor Mills. Only this, the piano player, being loved...by everyone. -----

Regina has also been honing her pastry/baking skills in the kitchen thanks to Food Network; taking cues from the 'Barefoot Contessa' Ina Garten and learning how to make the perfect cocktail from booze-hound Sandra Lee. ;D

Uh I totally have an Ina/Regina head canon! She's Regina's fantasy mom! marieyotz.tumblr.com/post/34652438090/head-canon-barefoot-contessa-is-reginas-favorite~~~~ ANYWAYS, now that I've revealed my secret fantasy to you all, just have to say this post just really helped me out on a loooooooong drive. I was jamming to my ipod, and would try to imagine Regina doing each song at open mike night. I got a real laugh out of the image of a drunken Regina at the evil-friendly speakeasy doing "I'll Put a Spell on You" by Nina Simone, with Rumpel wailing on the saxaphone in the background.... Even better was an even drunker Regina sitting on the edge of the stage at Granny's and doing "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell. Laughed all the way home!

Regina's been penning her welcome home song for Emma, with a little help from Bruce Springsteen's "Tougher Than the Rest"
Some girls they want a handsome Graham Or some car-thievin’ shmoe On their arm some girls want a wooden Pinocchio But around here baby I've learned you get what you can get So if you're looking for love Honey I'm tougher than the rest

LMAO! OUAT has such a hammy cast, I bet they would love to do a goofy cabaret night like this for charity, or just messing around.
