I thought we could use a thread for questions about the board itself and how to use it.

Questions/Concerns I've gotten so far:

1) There is no gender neutral option when registering.

a) My suggestion is to randomly pick one and then "hide" it on this board so that no one sees what you picked. You have the option to "hide" your gender in your profile. Once you have activated your account, click "profile" and then "modify profile" to see the "hide gender" option. Change it to "yes" to hide your gender. Click "modify profile" to save your changes. Once you have done that, send a nice email to the staff at proboards requesting a gender neutral option when registering.

2) How do I post an avatar?

a) Upload the picture you want to photobucket or a similar album and paste the URL (or use a tumblr URL). Click "modify profile." Paste or type the URL of the picture of your choice where it says "Avatar URL." You will need to specify that Avatar Width is 100 and Avatar Height is 100 (We haven't figured out how to make it automatically 100 by 100 pixels yet being new to this, but this will work in the meantime). Click "modify profile" to save your changes.

3) The color scheme hurts my eyes.

a) Registered members have multiple options for color schemes called "skins." Currently, we have 3 skins in addition to the default (which last I checked was white background and blue writing). My personal preference is the "Magic Touch" skin because the purple is easier on my eyes, but different people have different preferences, which is why registered members have the option of multiple skins (under "modify profile").

3) What is Swan Queen?

Swan Queen is the romantic pairing of Regina Mills and Emma Swan from Once Upon a Time.

4) Regina and Emma? But they hate each other?

For the subtext impaired, let me introduce you to the loveliness that is Swan Queen:

Episode 1: Lesbian Parent Trap. Regina has been lonely and bitter, so Henry brings his birth mother home to meet his adoptive mother. Regina's eyes rake over Emma's entire body. The show provides the premise that Regina is the Evil Queen and Emma is the Savior.

Episode 2: Emma opens the door for Regina without pants. Regina tosses Emma an apple, and Emma catches it (an ancient Greek marriage proposal and acceptance of the proposal).

Episode 3: "Enjoy my shirt because that's all you're getting."--Emma is wearing Regina's shirt.

Episode 4: Emma spills hot cocoa all over herself because she was concentrating on watching Regina's ass as she left the diner.

Episode 5: Regina asks Emma for help with Henry. Regina & Emma almost kiss at the mine. Regina: "He's my son." Emma: "He's my son too. You've been sitting behind a desk for 10 years. I can do this." Regina steps in close,"Just bring him to me." Regina stares down at Emma's lips. The tension is smoking. Emma blushes and looks down, unable to look her in the eye as she backs away.

Episode 7: Catfight. Emma pushes Regina against a wall.

Episode 8: Emma truly becomes Regina's knight in shining red leather: she saves her from a fire.

Episode 10: Regina puts aside her pride and asks for Emma's help for Henry's sake.

Episode 11: Emma leans over Regina's desk to give her a nice view. Regina looks.

Episode 12: Divorced lesbian mommies in a custody battle. "Miss Swan, I'm giving you 30 minutes with Henry. Take him out. Buy him ice cream." Emma & Regina wear the same red turtleneck. Regina makes the comment, "True Love's Kiss will break any curse"--leading to the logical conclusion that to break the curse, the Savior must be the True Love of the Evil Queen who cast the curse in order to be the only one who can break it. (Sadly, this isn't how the curse breaks, but it would make a LOT of sense.)

Episode 16: Personal space, what personal space?

Episode 18: Regina smiles as she opens the door to find Emma. Again, personal space. What's that? Regina has been abused by her mother to make her a "better" person by marrying a King and accuses her of being too much of a tomboy, but all Regina wants is to be herself.

Episode 19: Regina sits on Emma's desk & Emma can't keep her eyes off of her, leading to a tete a tete in the hallway.

Episode 21: "I didn't come for dinner." "What did you come for?" "You."..."How to get the Savior to taste my Forbidden Fruit?"...Regina *cooks* for Emma. Sure, it's an enchanted apple turnover, but still, she cooks. "Whatever this is between us needs to end."

Episode 22: Emma slays a dragon and immediately afterwards unties Regina who has been bound and gagged to a chair. White Knight, Damsel in Distress. Oh yeah, and they have another delicious catfight.

Season Two Episode 1: Emma saves Regina not once, but FIVE times. Regina's magic won't work until she and Emma touch, and then a magic portal opens (this is a throwback to the Willow/Tara scene with the vending machine in Hush on Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Episodes 2 through 7 (at least all the ones we see Regina in): Regina wears Emma's shirts while Emma is in FTL.

5) Why are my posts being edited?

Proboards doesn't permit links to M rated fics or sexy pics. More may be added as we find out about it.

I am waiting to hear back from proboards on what specifically is prohibited content that would violate their community guidelines. They sent a warning and links to the fanfic board as example of violating content. Removed M rated links to appease the proboard gods, hopefully.

Also, 'sexy naked photoshoots' are now limited to 'mildly immodest and slightly naughty photoshoots.'

I heard back from proboards- we must keep our content suitable for ages 13 and up... I was endearingly debaucherous at 13 so...well, please use your best judgment.

Because the automatic 100 by 100 setting seems to be cranky, I uploaded some new Swan Queen, Evil Queen, Emma, Lana avatars. A few were nicely gifted to us by Barbie Shoes. The rest were screen caps.

I added an "Evil Queen" themed skin you can use to view the board. Silvers, greys and spoons, oh my!

Hey, sorry to be a bother, but Amber told me this was where you posted suggestions. We'd just been talking and I thought maybe a new board or sub-board might be nice that's something like.... I don't know, random things? I mean, I know we have the General Board, but I figured that was more for like general discussions or comments. I was thinking a board that's more for Games, things that don't have to do with Once (such as personal topics, like what you did over the weekend), or even roleplaying. Not sure if that would work here, it's just something a lot of sites I've been in use as a sort of 'Place to go when you're bored but don't want to get involved in discussions.' Kind of like hangout board, where the members can just talk about whatever and get to know each other.

Not sure if it would work well, just thought I'd throw that out there.
