Only Lana can make a peasant's rags look regal. The "price" for the shapeshift is ceasing trade w/King George's realm because Rumple needs him bankrupt. Does someone else remember which plot required King George to be bankrupt? Was it the one w/Abigail?

Rumple needed George bankrupt so he could strike a deal with king Midas (who was Abigail father) for his golden touch. George had to be desperate enough to agree for another deal with Rumple to bring the twin Charming and slay the dragon so George could get all the reaches

BTW I keep admiring the first scene when Regina is angrily riding the horse

Also, I really don't know what to think of Regina not being able to comprehend love and compassion. It sucks and Rumple is having a great time out of it. At the same time, in a way, it gives her an excuse because she truly seems like it's a completely foreign notion she's trying to grab there. I'm glad because it means there is still a chance for her, yet I cringe inside because at the same time it really is difficult for her to ever learn it so maybe she will never really click? I feel like her character keeps going backwards on and on instead of making any progress. Boo.

I really liked the episode and, surprisingly, the flashbacks too. I thought there will be some repetitive writing again, like with Rumple last episode, but it was actually good. I loved that Regina saw the other side of her castle and hopefully that was a bit of a sobering experience for her.
I now hope that without the dark magic, she will be able to see 'that other side' again and fingers crossed she will change her ways around people and they will see that bit of good in her too.
