Geeking out a little at young Rumple learning how to use a spinning wheel.

And why did Rumple go to the trouble to create a curse when he knew about magic beans as a young boy?

Ah good point. I believe it was The Blue Fairy who told him the only way to ever reach his son would be through a curse, I think she gave the last one to Baelfire. I assume because everyone thought that the magic beans were long gone. (The last one Hook stole from Tiny was petrified, but they used it in the water that had regenerative properties). When Cora brought Tiny back to Storybrooke he reveals he has a cutting to re-plant and make more. I guess prior to that he had no reason to plant it after his family had been massacred by Jack and Charming's twin.

What I've always wondered though was, considering Rumple/The Dark One is immortal, and has been alive over 300 years, at what point did he decide his very mortal son would still be alive?

Neal/Baelfire is over 300 too, because of his stint in Neverland, but we've never been told that Rumple knew he was there. So logically, surely, after around 70 years it would be a safe bet to consider the long lost mortal son was you know, dead. Yet he didn't. I wish they would explore that.

I'm guessing Rumple looked through one of those crystal things to see Baelfire was in Neverland like Neal used to see Emma was in Neverland.

The scene where Emma & Regina moved the moon should have been longer.

I agree, the entire thing happened very fast. Although I must admit, I did get a tremendous kick out of Emma self consciously glancing towards Regina to make sure she was doing it right.
