Lana & JMo did an interview with AE: www.afterellen.com/node/104538Swan Queen was mentioned, so I thought people might like to comment on it. Just please keep commentary PG 13. I was debating whether this interview belonged here or on the Once Upon a Rant board, but I figured we could start discussing it here.

I understand where Jen was going with that comment, but I really do not agree with her. The gay audience is not drawn to the fairytale appeal they're drawn to the ATTRACTIVE CHARACTERS. And sorry but the gay audience cannot identify with these characters if they are all STRAIGHT. We all know why this is the case and Jen does, too. Don't want to ruffle too many feathers of the network that's paying for your livelihood. I don't mean for that to sound harsh, but it's kind of true.
Oh Megan, I love you. We need more of this boob worshiping attitude from the set. *cough*Lana's tatas*cough*

See, what amazes me the most about this interview is that everyone (except me) seems to have forgotten that the person who wrote this interview is the same man who persistently asked Lana at Comic Con which "man" Regina should have a romance with on the show until she finally said Captain Eyeliner. I have a feeling that Lana & Jen would have responded a bit differently if they were actually speaking to a lesbian journalist.
I am glad that Lana went back and looked at the mine scene after her previous interview though (even though it's abundantly clear she's talking about a different scene--the almost kiss is before Emma saves Henry, not after).

I'm sorry. Is saying that NOW I have an magic ship on this show totally not pg-13? No, right, because Megan and Annabeth aren't related in really real life. I'm going to ship Monica Reyes with Ruby the waitress. OMIGOD I'M FREAKING OUT. what a hot crossover idea. someone else write it! Ok, yeah, lots of cop-out answers in this interview. Ummmm....yeah...at least they're answering the questions sort of. Sort of. Lana and JMo had better get warmed up to the idea of SQ because it's the best possible story on the show. Besty best. Better than the EQ making her kid happy. Better than Snow kicking butt with swords. SQ is the cutting edge. The bee's knees. The final frontier. The...hot fudge on my ice cream.

Ok, so I thought JMo's answer was kind of weird... I think I get what she was saying but I still want to know if you would be against SQ or even Emma being gay (or bi) And I love Megan's answer ;D

Lana and JMo had better get warmed up to the idea of SQ because it's the best possible story on the show. Besty best. I was thinking the very same thing. They better get used to these Swan Queen related questions because as long as they keep staring at each other like they did all last season and in "Broken" these inquiries will NEVER stop.

I think when we fans talk about it, addressing the story and character arc dynamics may go a long way to JMo coming around about it. She strikes me as even more "it's got to make sense for Emma" than even Lana is about developments in Regina's storyline. JMo's thinks (IMHO) that Emma should remain emotionally closed off for a while, letting people in only tiny increments. Flirtations, maybe, but serious relationships are probably off the table in her mind.
But, like Regina, Emma will have to figure out a way to deal with her son's other mother, and that will force more uncomfortable/tense/raw emotional moments between them. "It's complicated" doesn't even begin to describe the tangles they have to unravel in attempting to go forward.

Maybe we should tweet jmo the same kinds of intellectually based character questions like we're doing with lana?
