I'm all for it! I already sent a tweet to Lana. I think especially if we do it in a subtle, non-overwhelming way, but let her hear our quiet unwavering voice.
I understand the organic development of the character and not wanting things to get too self-conscious or deliberate because it would seem unnatural, and possibly alter the delicious chemistry we love, but Lana and cast get tweeted ad nauseum about het ships and straight pairings so why can't we add our voice to the loop?- it's not going to hurt anything. Especially, if our voice is intelligent and thought provoking.
We tweet and we just leave it there...

This is an tricky discussion for me, Scribes, because of the mad admiration I have for your handling of the interview and its hype, and the my love for your fanfic. It's not meant as a veto vote - it's just a discussion of tactics. We share the same goals and vision.
The position you were in with your interview had so many interesting layers and challenges, not unlike my position as someone who is stuck in a netherworld of analysis between criticism of popular culture, fascination with the machinery of stardom and actors' crafts, and political/artistic potential of fandom and social media. I don't mean to throw water on the enthusiasm. (I recently reread the Tumblr of a very dear young thing who met LP at the HRC Cleveland Gala, and was moved by her pure sincerity.) I'm just beginning to think through what an effective "campaign" might look like, and wondering about how the synergy between passionate fans with an agenda and self-interested PTB really works. On the other hand, effectiveness isn't everything. Sometimes self-expression is really all there is.

I was actually counting down for this reply. btw there's now no room in our garage for the car, thanks to your blimmin' pink elephant. Ebay? OMG. I'm sorry. This just made me snort my morning coffee! Good morning, all!

Send her a link to one of the longer, well written stories. With good character development and with slow building relationship between Regina and Emma. Girl won't be able to stop reading.

I wish JMo had been more specific in her answer. And Meghan... oh, Meghan. Lol. I know this is a Swan Queen forum but I just really love Meghan; she's adorable. She went straight to the point.

I am all for this idea. I rarely tweet Lana, but when I do, I try to keep it to the more intellectual focus discussed earlier in this thread. Drives me crazy when I see people send her the same tweets 50+ times a day that simply plea that she say hi or say she loves _____. I am all for this little idea Sidenote - has there been somewhere where we've shared twitter handles? I'm a bit behind in beginning to post so I apologize if I'm out of the loop!

One of the best stories is a good idea. Or perhaps a well-written, well-edited, and specificially targetted Swan Queen manifesto. Volunteers? <cough> scribb1es<cough>

And...sorry my avatar was so ginormous! I could not figure out how to shrink it down. I'll save that dilemma for another day. I have earth-shattering, mind-blowing tweets to think about *insert Evil Queen smirk here* There's an answer to that in the FAQ thread. **Edited to add since Avatars are being cranky, I uploaded some shiny new Evil Queen, Lana, Swan Queen and Emma pics that are 100 by 100. FYI, send mind-shattering, intellectual tweets in the 10 pm to 3 am EST time range because she is most likely to read them then. Thank you for the additional avatar uploads and intel about tweets! Gosh, I am thankful to be in PST.

I love this idea. Has anyone been doing it? Sending lana clever SQ/subtext/thoughtful tweets? I must get a twitter account now.

Besides me, not that I've seen yet, but everyone has also been busy getting their fic ready for the Christmas contest. I've got 1000 words so far on mine, but I'm not expecting to get it done by the deadline (I will try though) because I effectively lost all of last weekend for writing due to the holiday.

I think we can change her mind, she would not be the first actress to not be on board and then support it on later seasons

so smart. awareness is the root to more. and you know, the reason why sq is so particularly meaningful to me, is it makes actual sense in the telling of the story. it's not just about two people getting together, it's the thoughtful, groundbreaking narrative. it's poetic even. and super rich and complex ground to explore. what a unique relationship: adoptive and biological mom.
it was reading sq fic that really opened my eyes to what a family could feel like with another woman, and made me understand how it might be something that i could want and could have. couldn't seem to wrap my head around it before, had no idea, until i was exposed to it in a more concrete and defined manner and could then think through it and discover for myself. can you imagine if there were more of these stories growing up and on tv like that?
i think thoughtful tweets is a perfect idea. can do no harm.

Swan Queen got a shout out on "why do lesbians still like subtext," and yours truly got her tweet included in the article as well. www.afterellen.com/node/105217Emma Swan/Regina Mills (SwanQueen) - Once Upon a Time You know the old fairy tale. Girl meets girl, girl tries to kill other girl with a poison apple, girl gives girl smoldering looks while co-parenting an annoying child. Just like grandma used to tell us. Nothing like a love/hate relationship to really get those fandom juices flowing!
