I often find collaborating or just bouncing ideas off someone else is extremely helpful in the creative process. You can use this thread for that too. Oh man am I glad you made this thread.
99% of the time I have absolutely no one to bounce my ideas off of and I need that a lot.
Hell, I'd collaborate with anyone here because you guys are freaking amazing.
Anyways, thank you for making this thread.
And this post of mine is not in vein and all rambly for no reason. Lol. I always need someone to beta or bounce ideas off of, so I suppose this is my reach out? xD

I noticed it's really hard to find a Beta. Even with the Beta section in FF.net It's hard to see if someone will do slash fic and if they are really familiar with the show.
I had a Beta, but she told me she couldn't help me anymore, that I'd outgrown her abilities.
Which, ofcourse is a great compliment! But it does mean I am in need of a new one....
I need someone to bounce off, to nitpick my grammar and expressions. My native tongue isn't Enlish so that leaves me searching for the right word sometimes and avoid being repetitive.
I don't write very fast and my writing time is limited so I (hopefully) won''t be taking up loads of your time.

Oh, this is awesome! I love reading fanfic, but I'm definitely not a writer. I'm just not able to create a whole storyline in my head, and I'm not very good with plot, or writing regularly. But I am a pretty excellent proof reader! Often when I read fic I find that grammar mistakes are very distracting, and I'll think that I'd totally be willing to proofread for this author, but I can't be a beta on FF.net because I don't have anything published! I think it'd be fun to exchange ideas or have someone bounce things off me, and I tend to come up with good stuff while brainstorming  I do feel that I need to be clear about the fact that English isn't my native language either, but most people wouldn't notice anything if I didn't tell them  and I usually find that having learned English from scratch helps me be more aware of grammar than most native speakers. So yeah, I'd be happy to beta if anyone is up for it! Just let me know =) |

not a writer but a devoted reader..
not sure on the coming up with good stuff while brainstorming..
not a native speaker, either.. very grammar and spelling oriented, though..
yep, i wouldn't mind being someone's beta..

I've got two months of school holidays ahead of me (finally, free time!) and I'm always happy to beta for anyone! I'm a native English speaker and I'm obsessed with grammar so I think I'm a good help there, especially if you're writing with English as a second language - I've beta'd for two different writers in that situation so far. I also write SQ fic myself so I'm always up for discussions about the actual plot and characterisation of your writing! Or just the show in general. I'm very happily betaing for Standbackufools at the moment (and by 'betaing' I mean frequently sending raging emails to), but I'd be happy to help around with oneshots and shorter fics. Especially around this time, anyway; I have a break in assignments and the Christmas vacation. (English Lang/Lit student, just started a Creative Writing degree.) |

I could use a beta for 'A Ticket to Anywhere'. Not so much for grammar but to help me see where I should take the story. It's on Agramontes.tumblr.com, ff.net and AO3 if you want to check it out, and I have it written thru chapter 8 but after that, it gets to where I'm not sure what to do with it....so I would appreciate the help, if anyone is interested.
