Hey, not sure where to place the thread and I hope there isn't one already - I haven't found one anyway.
BUT, I think our ladies deserve to have some song tributes - either individually or for both of them and their relationship. Something that will immediately remind you of them! Any suggestions?
I will start with this particular song as it truly is connected to Regina in so many ways:
"Windmills of your mind" best covered by Sting.
I can just picture Regina siting in her living room by the fire place, sipping the strongest apple cider she could make and bitterly contemplating her life...
Why this song? First and obvious - she's miller's daughter.
Second, which I think it's pretty safe to assume, she is also Don Quixote - her horse's name is Rocinante and she IS "tilting at windmills" i.e. battling imaginary enemy, that is, the happiness of everyone else. It resonates in her head and she's trying to control it but she really can't. That, and the distant memory of the person and the happiness that she could've had.
Third - just look at the lyrics:
Yes, I really can't wait for OUAT to be back...

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel //connections to Rumple?...
Like a snowball down a mountain //...and to Snow White
Or a carnaval balloon
Like a carousell that's turning
Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping // as if a nod to Alice's White Rabbit and his clock
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple // pretty self-explanatory
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream // the Storybrooke dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.
Keys that jingle in your pocket // Regina's keys that open every door
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking allong the shore, // Regina and Emma, evidently ;D
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel //connections to Rumple?...
