I am not surprised by this for a number of reasons:
1. We already know she's a closet homophobe. 2. It's reasonable that she identifies with her character, and Snow/MM definitely doesn't want to see any SwanQueen action.
That said, She's really starting to piss me off and I think she needs some schooling. And by SCHOOLING, I mean several people need to get together and respond to her various insulting quotes in a carefully thought about and eloquent way. Something that she would understand as a professional and an actor but also on a personal level. This response should have excellent production values as well so that our point is not disregarded or misunderstood. Then maybe she would get it and STFU already with the Homophone BS.

I would settle for every single one of them to agree not to say anything ever again on any f/f ship. I don't enjoy being told to "go f**k myself" or that murder, hetero sex, genocides, child wars, and forced marriages are a okay, but f/f pairings aren't "family" friendly and if I say different it's because I just want to see hot lesbian action. *grumble*

Lets trend #ginnygate2.0 or #ginnygate during this weeks show!!!! Lets show The Powers That Be that we are SICK and TIRED of being insulted! Also, not to make light of more serious instances of defamation but can we do this on the GLAAD website: www.glaad.org/reportdefamationCan we report her? My logic in this being that when Jane was asked about SwanQueen most recently she cited how DISNEY/ABC was ranked really well in LGBTQ representation. What do you guys think? I'm really pissed right now, but I think I'm still making sense.

Is there an email address that we can contact Goodwin on? I didn't make much of her tweets (as giftofamber can confirm ) but this one here is a horrible statement and I really need to write to her. Not with rage, but with some clarification on what she's actually said and whether she understands the hypocrisy here. Hell, even a postal address, maybe an actual letter will be taken with more attention...

Hell, even a postal address, maybe an actual letter will be taken with more attention... A postal letter would absolutely be taken more seriously. I'm more apt to send mail to the executive producers/higher ups though simply because 'fan mail' often gets counted to justify screen time, and I certainly don't want to aid her career in any way. Once Upon a Time Stage 49 Ltd. 2400 Boundary Road Burnaby, BC V5M 3Z3 Canada To add to the hypocrisy, one of her former roles involved playing a character married to a man over 20 years older than her who made out with her stepson. FYI, the "twitter war" had nothing to do with her reference to magic, it was over the way she worded her tweet that made it sound like a same sex couple belonged on cable. The wife tweet was her attempt to "apologize," but no one bought for a second that this was her issue, nor do I now. What angers me more than her comments is that none of the cast/crew/producers/PR department is doing anything to counteract her comments, and now, even if Swan Queen happens, the relationship will be forever tainted by her comments in the eyes of conservatives.

I'm actually not too fired up by Ginny's comments -- her opinion matters to me not at all, and my head canon is that she's just bent out of shape because her character's couple (which has all the emotional sophistication of... like... a disney movie pairing ) has a paltry fanbase which probably consists mostly of 11 year olds and she keeps getting asked about Swan Queen all the time. The feeling I was really left with after reading her response to the question was mostly that she's just a total flop in the art of speaking honestly to a wide and diverse audience. There was a way to say what she intended without causing an uproar. And Amber -- I forgot she was in Big Love! lol that's funny! Good point!

I'm a bit calmer today... I would at least like for the producers to tell her its probably best if she doesn't field anymore SwanQueen questions, since she doesn't know how to answer them.

If she only realized that many Swan Queen shippers treated her character well as Emma's mother prior to her whole jealous rant. *rolls eyes* BTW, that 'journalist' was just as responsible as GG. It's clear in the comments (he posted in the comments section) that he had an agenda by asking GG this question. Do I care what GG thinks? No. But a lot of impressionable young people do & she perpetuated a stereotype about F/F relationships. Not to mention, I'm sick of the show taking us for granted as loyal viewers while letting the cast insult us all the while.

I keep having this imaginary conversation with Ginny, where I sit her down and calmly and carefully explain to her how her comments, regardless of how she intended them, are hurtful and detrimental to the Swan Queen community. I guess that's my way of making peace with Ginnygate. There are some things being posted and ideas being floated about a proper response. Something that carries the gravitas we intend and is positive in tone so as not to incur a backlash. I question how effective any of that will be, but at least it gives people who are bothered by her comments and all this commotion, something to do that is constructive and community oriented.
I also find that all the anger this has brought up in me, has actually spurred me on into writing more and photoshopping more and being creative and committed. GiftofAmber tweeted that Swan Queen has hit 2000 stories on FF.net and I think that's in the same vein. We can be productive and carry our messages across by being plentiful. By writing and GIFing and capping the hell out of Swan Queen; by being a community that supports each other's creativity and intellect and smutty goodness. These disturbances will always crop up and they will always get to us on some level, sometimes more than at other times, but its our perseverance that really defines us. Comic Con wasn't built in a day. Lets keep our heads up.
