If Swan Queen ever becomes canon *knocking on August's wooden face,* then I hope they do an episode with flashbacks in which we see Regina and Emma interacting during these periods of supposed separation. I bet when they did the final cut of this episode, they edited out a Regina/Emma scene there. Not sure if it's gay panic. Poor planning/bad writing, maybe. Or perhaps they are making a concentrated effort not to feature the actresses together because of the "magic" argument. I think that is the bigger obstacle. God I hope that's not the case, especially when Hook is Henry's step-grandfather & Neal is like 300+ years old & had sex w/a minor. You're probably right about an edited SQ scene. It was indoors so we wouldn't have had word of whether one was filmed or not.

Regina gets no breaks because she is the one who needs saved most by the Savior. It's the only thing that makes sense.
Back to Regina's scene, she definitely had the exact same reaction to Owen that she did to Snow when Mary Margaret was in jail. She's backtracked a LOT. Yet, she's still protecting Storybrooke in her own weird way.

The "Dragon" had red magic. His whole "you haven't met the real me"....was the Dragon from Storybrooke? If so, who was he?

I'm almost certain that's why they refuse to go that direction, or really acknowledge that such a direction exists--
I don't think they're going to invite Neal back for too much of season 3. Hook will be around, but I doubt they're going to pair him with Emma, either. I'm pretty sure the writers are wary of pairing Emma with anyone, at this point. They teased a romance for her in season 2, and so far, we've gotten nothing. They don't know what to do, and they're feeling out their audience.
Sigh. This episode. Do these guys do research at all? Their plots related to magic are always so boring. I can't even focus on what's happening with Pinocchio and Tamara.

Some notes: I enjoyed the final 5 minutes. The rest was a waste. And now our lovely new Black person is EVIL. Great. Way to go, show! (sarcasm)
Really glad that Owen/Greg is NOT being used as a love interest for Regina.
If there was a scene that got scripted or filmed but cut between Emma and Regina, what would it have been about? I can imagine a scene at the end, after Emma has overheard what happened between Snow and Regina the other day and she goes to confront her about that. I can also picture a scene where Emma takes Henry to see his other mom, after realizing that everyone needs redemption including Regina and that apology on the stairs.
Another interesting moment was when Marco and Snow had that slap scene. After Snow's half-assed apology for the slap, Marco says how he 'burdened his son with the unimaginable and called it love' for sending August in the Tree. Snow basically says the opposite in response. If I was Emma, this would be red flags for me, because she still feels ambivalent about being sent in the tree. Like if they had really loved her, they wouldn't have burdened her with being the saviour. They could all have lived happily cursed but together as a family. And here we have Snow saying the opposite of that, right in front of her. I think Emma deep down would like Snow to apologize to her the way Marco felt remorse for burdening his son. But, guess they will save that shit for some later season (if they get a fourth or fifth).
And the last thing, and I saved the best for last: On a positive note, the duo of 'human' baddies who have it out for 'the magic' of the town. Presumably this means all the magic, be it good or bad, so they could pose a threat to Rumple, Regina, Emma and the Fairies and Dwarves. That's a lot of people. Could these loser baddies be the thing to bring our ladies together with a common cause? Could we hope for that during the hiatus? (Only to have our hopes dashed in the first five minutes back, as usual)?
Overall, a completely blah episode. No feels whatsoever. And glad that they got rid of Eion's August. It's funny how they kept saying there was no beef with him but then they brought him back, it was to effectively kill off his character.
Everybody better be on their toes, I guess. What a message to send to the cast...'If you're uncooperative, we will magically shrink you and get your child actor to take over for you.' Ginny better watch out then, cause Bailey is killing it. Will we get a young Regina too? Are they going to recast the whole show and turn it into Saved by the Bell the teenage years? What ARE they doing? These fuckers have lost their minds.

I'm *sure* this is completely irrelevant, but I just googled, and found this:
In the fictional Wheel of Time fantasy series by Robert Jordan, the Dragon is the champion of the Light and the Creator against the evil Dark One. Although the Dark One was imprisoned by the Creator at the moment of creation, he continually seeks to break free of his prison. In each Age, the Dragon is reborn to fight the Dark One and keep him locked away from the world. During the events of The Wheel of Time, Rand al'Thor is the Dragon, and is referred to as The Dragon Reborn.
Although I doubt the 'Dragon' has any connection to Rumpelstiltskin, I bet that character is supposed to serve a similar role in the show. Either that, or we'll never see him again, and this will be a plot point that is never explained.

Emma & Regina are both in black & red today.
I swear to god if they even think of making Emma a baby again for a second chance...
Ok, so after growing up around Rumple, Neal didn't recognize Tamara's lies? Really?

I honestly don't mind it that Regina is returning to her old ways, but I want Emma to believe in her, and try to make things better.
Think the show made a serious error with Tamara RE: turning her into a villain. She's not that interesting, either. I'm not at all shocked that she had connections to Pinocchio, or that she turned out to be "Her." Their plot twists aren't plot twists. This is some lazy writing.
I was never concerned that Owen would be a love interest for Regina. I'm not even worried about Hook or Neal. BUT I AM worried about this new Robin Hood character they're going to introduce. That's a big problem. He's a potential threat, for sure.
They cut an Emma/Regina scene from the diner, I think?
I want Emma to rip into Snow. She needs to have an all-out fit at some point. To feel more resentment than what we're seeing. There's so much that's been left unresolved with the Charming family, and it sucks--
I absolutely think Owen/Tamara will bring Emma/Regina together, in some way.
What did Eion Bailey do to piss the writers off? I didn't hear anything about that.

Second on the wanting to see Regina rip into Snow. Also, regarding Robin Hood....so sick and tired of all the men we're forced to endure in the name of gay panic.

I want Regina AND Emma to rip into Snow.
Me too RE: Robin Hood. Seriously, the moment his face came on screen, I was like, "NOOOO!" Because he's actually attractive and exactly the type of man Emma *would* fall for --

Definitely not the best episode. The only concern I have: what fun things should we plan for the hiatus? We have a few more weeks to get back to our happy place before the show puts us back in this weird A/U again.

Ok, I love August so I liked this episode because of that (except for the end because NOPE) I'm not liking what they are doing with Tamara (what a surprise!) and do all people have to know eachother, really? Regina, I needed more of you in this episode (especially needed a scene with Emma). Here's hoping for lots of screen-time after the hiatus! Also, why do we have a hiatus, why?

I'm with Ex. This episode should have been called 'Horrid, Boring and Wrong'. My only thoughts on why all these magical people keep 'finding' each other in the human world is that magical beings are drawn to each other and that Tammy and the Magic Seekers are like a cult of conspiracy theorists that have sought each other out. We see how Bad Tammy sees August talking to Neal so she goes after Neal. Then Wooden Boy sends a postcard in 2x01 'Greetings from Storybrooke' which gets Tammy googling 'Storybrooke' and finding GregOwen Flynn who been looking for it forever and these fools team up. So Two-Timing Tammy is clearly bad and GregO hopefully won't put a creepy crush on Regina for more info (which would be really truly cringeworthy), while we endure this dumbass sweeps plot line that hopefully ends in all these stupid new characters (Hook, Tamara, Neal, Errybody) nullified before season 3. Maybe then I will believe that Adam Horowitz is not a complete and utter moron and has been listening to us grovel for SwanQueen on twitter and everything else. And we can perhaps look forward to season 3.
