One of my all time favorite Swan Queen fics, alongside being one of the first I read, was Grooming by Dashed. It created this strange, and disturbing dynamic between Emma and Regina that I had never seen before and was thoroughly intrigued by. It's very dark, but it's extremely well written. The darkness was what drew me to it simply because when it comes to fic I'm a huge masochist xD

Really good recs-I also like Enchanted, Tempest for sure. I never told you(you will cry), Marked, That blond godess(this one has Daniel/Regina married at the start I believe). Fulfilled(post curse breaking ones are my favs) The wicket stepmother(Regina alters the curse to allow her seduction of Emma), Caught in the grey(Regina between 2 worlds crossover with Cameron from House)
I think I'm going to stop for now, but most of these are on fanfiction.net so . . . . get to reading

I've been reading authors that I hadn't read before: The Secret's in the Telling- is treating me well Just a Television Romance The Wicked Stepmother Fics I wish would update: Open to Falling from Grace - the political AU by Iceiclair The Second Hand Unwinds- come on the wicked stepmother -- seriousfic writes absolutely delish smut too, i loved all her LOTS fics, i can't wait to see where she will take this. |

Now I've got this stuck in my head. Paint it black-one of the MOST angsty fics for the nation. When I say ANGSTY I mean painfully so-BDSM, noncon, just brutal in the feels but so well done.

I have read a lot of SQ fics. I have tons of favorites, I guess I'll make a longer list in a few days, but for the meantime:
I am completely enamoured with Maleficently's "Somewhere, Someone Must Know The Ending". It is just perfectly written. I find myself stopping mid-sentence sometimes just to get a grip on all the feels. Dialogue is spot on.
Chilly-Flame's works are also my faves. I don't like to read Red Swan Queen, but one of her stories was really really good.
Of course, Debt and Ledger are high up on my list too. Extremely well-written.
Exquisiteliltart, fictorium, writetherest, hunnyfresh, etc. - their fics are amazing.

I have to admit, after putting it off for a while because of the subject matter, I finally read 'The Staircase' and I love it. It's a shame the author received enough anon hate to make her leave tumblr. I have to revisit The Staircase. I was all wobbly after chapter 1, but it was definitely intriguing. I don't understand people who hate on fics -- feel free to just not read it, that's your god given prerogative -- but don't try and shut people down from writing! Yup I've been liking The Staircase too (for awhile it was my secret shame) and I am delighted to see Exquisite has lured red charcoal to join this forum. Hopefully we won't scare her off. Meanwhile I have to do a shoutout for exquisite's sensuous fic, as well as her vanilla, triggerpoints one, and bond.jane's Let's Talk About Sex. They took my breath away for very different reasons. |

I'm a sucker for the more turbulent emotional ones. Some anger, disbelief and a hard time breaking the shell.
And of course I'm trying to finish up my own one FEEL.
