I really do not understand about this "writing ban" - is it from the person she lives with? omg I am absolutely devastated - if anyone has any further information please let me know - thanks

I can't speak to B's personal situation, but when i was a college student, I wrote a lot of fiction on the side, and sometimes it interfered with my studies. My parents caught onto this because of slipping grades. Since they were paying my college bills, the ultimatum was stop writing, or they would stop paying for college. I didn't; I couldn't. Writing was necessary. The next time they came to the college after grades where I hadn't measured up, they found my box of handwritten works and tossed the whole in a dumpster, with a match following after.
I was removed from that college and transferred to one closer to home. I wasn't in any position to pay my own way yet, so I had to do as required.
I wasn't evicted but, similarly, I was forced, by someone holding the purse-strings, to stop writing or the purse-strings would close permanently.

Ive been really enjoying Incoming Messages and Wicked Stepmother currently. Pure escapism fluff and a darkly seductive guilty pleasure , respectively. I am trying to keep myself doodling too so I can eventually update my own fics. But school teaching is so overwhelming right now, and it doesnt help my spouse just had heart surgery over the holiday season.

I wasn't too keen on the last chapter of Wicked Stepmother (a little too much Ruby), but I have been loving the rest of it so I'm not complaining too much. I haven't read Incoming Messages yet, but I enjoyed the Staircase updates. Blood Red Love is still my main love at this point. Wicked Stepmother is a close second. I fangirl when I see they've been updated. |

I'm currently excited about The Wicked Stepmother, Blood Red Love, Coveted, Frustrated, Home and A Time To Be So Small. And I'm looking forward to seeing more fics that take place post 'I invited her' and post Cora. Especially ones that are lovely and smutty rather than angst filled. I liked Exquililtart's, 'Vexed and Glorious'. I'm writing a SwanQueen road trip fic where Neal plays matchmaker for our ladies but my muse seems to have taken a vacation. |

Aaaand I have a free day tomorrow and will give what you've sent me a thorough read over and get back to you Incoming Messages is so adorable, right? I started it thinking it would be one of those short stories that I check in on every now and then, but I'm totally hooked. And it goes without saying that I can never get enough of 'a time to be so small'. I'm also a huge fan of Averno by deemn - it's a fascinating concept and perfectly executed. Hoping the author updates soon! |
