Loved the interview. It seems she gave honest, candid answers to good questions. She has crazy chemistry with other women on screen...hard to imagine she doesn't realize it or admit to it . Anyway...it makes for some mind blowing fan fiction, which is often more amazing than anything I could imagine on regulated tv. The topic of more lesbians on tv is a whole 'nuther subject...one I know Lana is in support of. Unfortunately, I hear she's getting hate mail, which certainly doesn't help the cause. The only "hate" tweets are the ones from certain Evil Regals trying to defend Lana from SWEN, saying how horrible we are because we actually have opinions and emotions like real people (wow!). I have her twitter tag in a search so I don't miss important things like interviews or whatever. A side benefit is seeing what people tweet her.

^THIS!yes I agree the entire people sending*hate tweets to lana* was a RUMOUR to stir shit yes some people were disappointed and they did say that on the SQ tag but that was it there was no hating everyone was respectful of her opinions but certain people just can't help it they had to create drama with their random posts and top it off they are not even SQ fans!!

has JMO ever commented on Swan Queen in any way? I never hear of anything... I'm curious about her take on it. It's def a topic that's getting too big to be ignored not that I am aware of!

It's almost more interesting how the writers/producers/actors have been ignoring SQ so much. Lana's interview was great! Great questions and great candid answers from her it seems. It must be tricky saying the 'right' thing. Even the TVguide interview with Kitsis/Horowitz was intentionally vague about what their thoughts were about Swan Queen. They are probably keeping intentionally vague to not alienate any of their fan base. And a part of me thinks Lana must be overwhelmed by all the SQ sexy feels attention she's getting.

I agree the vagueness of it is confusing but they are acknowledging it which is a good sign unlike Ginnifer who dissed it!

I really loved the interview, Lana was finally asked different questions. I feel like a lot of interviews have the same questions, but these were different and refreshing. And her answers where amazing. She just said what's she thought and I was amazed at how honest she seemed though the interview. Overall she just made me love her more, which I didn't think was possible.

That was the vibe I got too. She was really honest. Maybe cos she had just woken up? Although I think it helped not asking who her favourite fairytale character is, yet again. Lol. btw The interview was at 4pm her time... Guess her sleep patterns are a mess thanks to her crazy hours. Thanks for the compliments btw.

I think the part I love most (apart from the hilarity: scaring children on Halloween! Crazy costumes!) is probably how she brought up the similarities between Emma and Regina and how they might understand each other more than they themselves realize seemingly largely unprompted, because that's really the foundation of our ship. Regardless of whether someone ships them romantically or not, there's a connection there that matters.

Speaking of the interview, I've been talking (very briefly) about the hugging thing over on tumblr (and I've seen others talk about it as well), and I think that's really illustrative of where we (fandom) are in relation to where Lana (and perhaps the casual gen viewer) is. Fandom is 15 seasons ahead of non-shippers because we've already imagined hundreds of different ways they could get together, we've explored SO many different avenues and lines of thought and dynamics and AUs that concern these characters, so we already know so many possible ways it could happen, and we bring all this additional information to our viewing experience. Lana, meanwhile, seems to be very much in the present, where they haven't even hugged yet, which makes a romantic relationship seem unlikely right now to some people.

I'm just glad to have my gf back. Three people in this marriage....*grumble grumble* Always knew there would be some who wouldn't get the answer they hoped for on SQ. But really glad that everyone got to read what LP thinks of SQ *now*. Tomorrow, could be a new reality. Who knows? Both Eddy and Adam worked on the Ryan Murphy created very gay show, Popular. So hoping that counts for something, if only broadened horizons? I remember in the early days of Xena, its two stars walked the party line about any fan questions re Xena and Gabs being a couple - they were nervous about not setting off the studio who were not pro-subtext. By season 5, one of them was refusing to do het plots involving her character because it was obvious she was only into Xena. it did help the two actresses had a great rapport. That was in the late 90s - there is no excuse for waiting until season 5 in these times though. There are parallels in that X:WP had Liz Friedman "No one will notice the subtext", and OUAT's counterpart - Jane Espenson "All subtext is deliberate." I find it interesting that an actress who makes so many notes on her scripts seems to be oblivious the subtext being written in on purpose. Maybe the notes take a micro view, rather a macro one. As for the interviewer, I thought she did a great job of articulating LP's personality which doesn't often get a chance to come through fully in interviews due to the constant time and space limitations that are part of our sound byte obsessed media.

I argue the minute we see Regina and Emma hug it's ON. Lol - foreplay lana style is a hug apparently. What I thought was cute is she was kind of half asking me if they'd hugged, her tone rising when she said it and I laughed and said "well you'd know" - cos lord only knows how many eps ahead she was at that point and I am thinking, hell maybe they did? How can she not be sure? Lol. Wouldn't that stick out in your brain? The EQ hugging the saviour? It was very funny the way she just laughed at herself for not knowing and how she clearly thought hugging was sq significant.

I'm unphased by the interview. I don't follow actors too much anymore, I find it just takes away from the characters for me, but it was pretty hard to miss this one on tumblr lol! Forgetting the whole 'family friendly, they're two women \o/' thing for a minute -- based on what I've seen outside of our little swan queen tag that could, a lot of fans are happy to hold on to Regina as the villain, which I suspect makes ABC reluctant to ostracize them by pairing up the baddy with the main good character, no matter how much sense it might make to those of us with a slightly less black and white view of humanity. I think Lana's comments were well in keeping with the more simple take on the characters that we're probably going to get. And heck, if the show will have grown up a little by season 5 or 6, i'll sure as shootin' be there watching!

Would it be nepotism to kiss this poster? it is interesting the subtext not really being noticed?/acknowledged? by lana even though she plays it so well and jane e has admitted putting it in. She wasn't being obtuse either, I genuinely felt she wasn't seeing it. Although now ... Now I do believe she will be looking for it. Once known, some things cannot be unseen, right?

I do wonder if the show will make it five or six seasons at the rate they're blowing through critical plotlines and irking existing fans with new characters. What's everyone else think?
